Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 19, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Radcalcs ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our website at radcalcs.org (the "Site"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

Patient data is never collected. All medical calculations on this Site run entirely in your web browser. No clinical values, patient identifiers, or calculation inputs are ever transmitted to our servers or any third party.

1. Patient Data — We Do Not Collect It

All medical calculations on this Site are performed entirely within your web browser using client-side JavaScript. No patient data, medical values, or calculation inputs are transmitted to our servers. We never see, store, or process any clinical information you enter into our calculators.

This is not a policy choice — it is an architectural one. Our calculators have no server-side component. When you enter a creatinine value, a DLP reading, or any clinical parameter, that data exists only within your browser tab and is discarded when you navigate away. There is no logging, no database storage, and no data pipeline for clinical inputs.

2. Information We Collect Automatically

Like most websites, we collect standard analytics data to understand how the Site is used and to improve our calculators. This data does not include any clinical information you enter.

Usage Analytics

We collect:

This data is used solely to understand how the Site is used, identify which calculators are most valuable, improve our tools and content, and ensure site reliability. We do not sell this data to any third party.

No Personal Account Data

Radcalcs does not offer user accounts, login, or registration. We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifying information through the Site itself. If you contact us by email (radbridge@polsia.app), your email address is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is not added to any marketing list.

3. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to collect and analyze website usage data. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect information about how visitors interact with the Site.

Google Analytics collects:

This data is processed by Google under their Privacy Policy. Google may use this data in accordance with their own terms. We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled.

Opting out of Google Analytics: You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser extension. This add-on is available for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera, and Internet Explorer.

4. Google AdSense and Advertising

We display advertisements on this Site served by Google AdSense. Google AdSense uses cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. This allows Google to show you ads that may be relevant to your interests.

Specifically, Google AdSense may:

Ad content displayed on Radcalcs is chosen by Google's ad systems and does not represent an endorsement by Radcalcs of any advertiser or product.

Opting out of personalized ads: You can opt out of Google's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting google.com/settings/ads. You can also opt out through the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out tool or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out tool.

Note that opting out of personalized ads does not mean you will see fewer ads — it means the ads displayed will not be personalized to your interests.

5. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. We use both first-party cookies (set by radcalcs.org) and third-party cookies (set by Google Analytics and Google AdSense).

Cookie Name Type Duration Purpose
radcalcs-theme First-party 1 year Stores your dark/light mode preference so the Site loads in your preferred theme on return visits.
radcalcs-cookie-consent First-party 1 year Stores your cookie consent choice so you are not shown the consent banner on every page load.
_ga Third-party (Google Analytics) 2 years Distinguishes unique users for Google Analytics reporting. Contains a randomly generated identifier — no personal information.
_gid Third-party (Google Analytics) 24 hours Distinguishes users for Google Analytics. Expires after each session day.
_gat Third-party (Google Analytics) 1 minute Used to throttle Google Analytics request rate. Does not contain user information.
IDE / DSID / NID Third-party (Google AdSense/DoubleClick) Up to 13 months Used by Google to serve personalized advertisements and track ad conversions. Set by Google's ad infrastructure.

Managing cookies: You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Instructions vary by browser:

Disabling cookies may affect Site functionality. The theme preference and consent cookies are the only cookies that affect your on-site experience; disabling analytics and advertising cookies will not affect the operation of any calculator.

6. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR and CCPA)

Depending on where you are located, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data.

For EU and UK Users (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), if you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

Because Radcalcs does not collect patient data and does not maintain user accounts, the personal data we hold is primarily analytics data (IP-derived location, device and browser type, session data) processed by Google Analytics. To exercise rights over data held by Google, please contact Google directly through their account settings.

For any privacy requests related to Radcalcs specifically, contact us at radbridge@polsia.app. We will respond within 30 days.

For California Users (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you with additional rights:

To make a CCPA request, contact us at radbridge@polsia.app.

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process data about Site visitors:

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (or Google Ireland Limited for EU/UK users). It collects usage data as described in Section 3 above. Google's data processing is governed by their Privacy Policy and their Data Processing Terms. We have a Data Processing Agreement in place with Google for our use of Google Analytics.

Google AdSense

Google AdSense is an advertising service provided by Google LLC. It may use cookies and tracking technologies to serve personalized ads as described in Section 4 above. Google's advertising data practices are governed by their Advertising Privacy Policy.

Google Fonts

We use Google Fonts to load the Inter typeface. When a page loads, your browser makes a request to Google's servers to retrieve the font files. This request may include your IP address. Google Fonts does not use cookies for font delivery. See Google Fonts Privacy FAQ.

8. Links to Other Sites

Our Site contains links to external websites — including guideline sources, journal articles, and reference materials. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

9. Children's Privacy

This Site is not directed at children under the age of 13. Our content is designed for licensed healthcare professionals and trainees in clinical settings. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through this Site, please contact us at radbridge@polsia.app and we will delete it promptly.

10. Data Retention

Because we do not maintain user accounts or directly store personally identifying information, we have limited data retention obligations. Analytics data collected through Google Analytics is retained for 26 months in Google's systems, consistent with Google's default retention settings. If you contact us by email, we retain email correspondence for up to 2 years for the purpose of responding to follow-up queries and tracking corrections.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we will update the date prominently. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Contact

Questions about this Privacy Policy, requests to exercise your data rights, or concerns about how we handle data? Contact us at radbridge@polsia.app. We aim to respond to all privacy-related inquiries within 30 days.
